When looked at through a hierarchal prism, it is notable how similarities in artists decisions can echo societal ones.  An artist examines the multiple ways to approach a concept. Color, shape, line, and texture all have different levels of importance and visual impact depending on value, scale and placement. This hierarchy impacts the composition and influences the artist’s decisions.

Similarly, in society, there are many decisions when building or improving most social constructs. Whether the topic is education, city development, social justice or healthcare, each decision impacts the outcome and whether the construct is widely accessible. The influence I feel between this hierarchal aspect in art and society often merges in my work.
